Shimla, Feb 9 (Inditop.com) Road connectivity to Manali in Himachal Pradesh, which was snapped due to heavy snow, was restored Tuesday evening, an official said.
“The road connectivity to Manali from Kullu was restored this (Tuesday) evening. Now all types of vehicles can ply,” Sub Divisional Magistrate Rajeshwar Goel told Inditop over phone from Manali.
Manali had been cut off from the rest of the country since Monday evening due to heavy snow that triggered massive landslides on the roads leading to the town.
Goel said all tourists in Manali, about 300 km from here, have been told to move to their destinations.
“Both the road stretches from Kullu – one from the Naggar side and the second the main national highway – have been reopened,” the official said.
The weather bureau here said Manali and its nearby areas received more than three feet of snow.
Manali is located on National Highway 22.
