Raipur, July 8 (Inditop.com) A 52-year-old leader of Chhattisgarh’s ruling Bharatiya Janata Patry (BJP), Ranjan Lal Sahu, allegedly committed suicide Wednesday because he was unable to repay loans he had taken, police said.
His body was found hanging in his house in Durg district, some 40 km from here, police said.
Sahu, who was the general secretary of the BJP for Durg district, has left a suicide note saying he had borrowed money and was unable to pay it back. In another paragraph of the letter, he said he had distributed loans to several persons as well but was unable to recover that had upset him.
“The BJP leader hanged himself at his house in Newai Bhata area… We are interrogating his family members and close relatives to ascertain the exact reason,” R.S.Dwivedi, Newai police station chief, told Inditop.com.
